It looks like the Dallas Cowboys will be getting some much-needed reinforcements ahead of a tough Week 11 matchup with the surging Minnesota Vikings. Dallas Morning News' Michael Gehlken reports that running back Ezekiel Elliott is "likely" to suit up on Sunday after missing the Cowboys' last two games with a knee injury.

Ezekiel Elliott Injury Update

Gehlken adds that the team not elevating an RB from the practice squad is a telling sign that Elliott will play. Nevertheless, it's worth noting that Cowboys owner Jerry Jones expected the veteran rusher to play in Week 10, only for the latter to be scratched from the game after his progress deteriorated.

Elliott has been about average this season, recording 109 carries for 443 rushing yards and four touchdowns in seven games. Though that sort of production isn't otherworldly, he was heating up in the last few games before his injury, tallying a 50-216-3 stat line over his last three outings.

It'll also be interesting to see what Tony Pollard's role looks like upon Elliott's return. The speedy backup RB has gone over 100 rushing yards in back-to-back games and has found the end zone four times in that span. If head coach Mike McCarthy can find a way to get both of his running backs going at the same time, Dallas will be a better team for it.

Nevertheless, it might be tough for the Cowboys' backfield duo to find a ton of success on Sunday. After all, the Vikings allow the sixth-fewest rushing yards at home this season (131.8).

Cowboys vs Vikings Odds

Even with the pressure of being the road team, things looking promising for McCarthy's squad. The Cowboys are currently listed as the 1.5-point favorites over the Vikings, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
