The Dallas Cowboys are struggling to build off their early season success dropping three of their last four games. However, it is important to avoid recency bias in this situation. Dallas has proven to be one of the top teams in the league and is being disrespected in ESPN's latest NFL power rankings.

The Cowboys check in at No. 10, which is five spots lower than their ranking last week. Keep in mind that each of their last three losses have come outside of the NFC conference. Dallas currently sits comfortably atop the NFC East division and has an outside shot to earn the No. 1 playoff seed.

Cowboys News

Dallas has shown how dangerous its offense can be when firing on all cylinders. This team is averaging a league-leading 419.8 yards per game to go along with 29.6 points per game (No. 3 in NFL). Quarterback Dak Prescott has been on fire, completing a career-high 69.4% of his pass attempts this season.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Cowboys have a couple of difference-makers out on the field. Micah Parsons is well on his way to being named NFL's Defensive Rookie of the Year with 9.0 sacks. Meanwhile, cornerback Trevon Diggs has guided an improving secondary with his league-high 8 interceptions.

Yes, Dallas has been struggling to put together a balanced attack over the last few weeks. This team still has the potential to win 11 or 12 games, though. They just need to get back to running the football and drawing less penalties.

The Cowboys will look to get back to their winning ways when they travel to take on the New Orleans Saints on Week 13's edition of Thursday Night Football. Dallas heads into that matchup as 4.5-point road favorites, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
