Denver Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton heads into the 2021 NFL season as a bit of a forgotten name across fantasy football leagues. The fourth-year pass-catcher missed almost the entire 2020 season after tearing his ACL in Week 2, but now comes with major bounce back potential as a reliable WR3.
Courtland Sutton Fantasy Value
It's hard to overlook the success Sutton had prior to his injury. The fourth-year pro hauled in 72 of his team-high 124 targets for 1,112 yards and 6 touchdowns during his last full season of play (2019). Overall, Sutton finished as the No. 19 WR that year and averaged 13.9 PPR points per game.
While it may take Sutton some time to readjust to the NFL and get back to his old ways, the Broncos coaching staff already knows what he is capable of. Sutton averages an impressive 16.1 yards per reception and has seen 6.5 targets per game throughout his career.
Sutton should be in line to see around 100 targets again this season as the top deep threat on offense for either Drew Lock or Teddy Bridgewater at quarterback. The only thing holding the 25-year-old back from having a massive season is the depth the Broncos have at the position.
Second-year player Jerry Jeudy is expected to take a step up in 2021 after racking up 856 yards during his rookie year. Tim Patrick and KJ Hamler are names to keep an eye on as well as they combined for over 1,100 receiving yards and 9 touchdowns in 2020.
Courtland Sutton ADP
Sutton's average draft position is 80.0 overall and No. 31 amongst WRs in PPR leagues, according to FantasyPros. Fantasy managers shouldn't be nervous to take him at that price as he's shown nothing but reliability and solid production in his career.
Sutton has a chance to fight for fringe WR2 contention when it's all said and done. He checks in at WR29 in The Duel's 2021 fantasy football rankings.
