Several top free agents are still sitting on the market, and that includes EDGE Melvin Ingram. Injuries significantly impacted his 2020 season with the Los Angeles Chargers, but the former first-round pick still has fire and ability to produce.

Here are three contenders that should should pursue the three-time Pro Bowler..

3. Dallas Cowboys

Ingram had 43 sacks in the five seasons from 2015-2019, including 10.5 each in 2015 and 2017. His best PFF grade came in 2018 when his overall rating was 85.3. The Cowboys still have some cap space to add a proven player at a position of need. Ingram can add a much-needed spark to the pass rush under new defensive coordinator Dan Quinn.

2. Baltimore Ravens

Ingram’s best seasons have come when Joey Bosa has been fully healthy and playing opposite him. Along with his age and injuries, teams will tread lightly and not overpay. But the Ravens should be keeping tabs on Ingram, especially after losing defensive ends Yannick Ngakoue and Matt Judon. Baltimore's defense has been a stronger unit in recent seasons, so they'll need a suitable replacement like Ingram to step in and help keep them at that level of play.

1. San Francisco 49ers

The San Francisco 49ers still have more than $18 million in cap space, per Spotrac, and could use some of it to add quality depth after a 2020 season plagued by injuries. Nick Bosa is recovering from an ACL injury, and the experienced Ingram can fill any role asked of him. He'd bolster an already strong defensive unit and make that side of the ball a nightmare for opponents.
