The Cincinnati Bengals have made the Super Bowl for the first time since 1989, but fans were left wondering about CJ Uzomah's health after Sunday's game. The veteran tight end recently provided an update after he was carted off the field in the first quarter of the AFC Championship game.

CJ Uzomah Injury Update
Uzomah remains hopeful that he will be able to suit up with his teammates on February 13. That is good news given the veteran tight end suffered an MCL sprain and stood on the sideline for the majority of Sunday's action. Fortunately, his injury pales in comparison to the torn achilles Uzomah suffered in 2020.
Of course, it's worth keeping an eye on how the 29-year-old is able to participate in practice sessions leading up to the big game. Knee injuries are always tricky, especially for a player that is either running routes or blocking defensive linemen on every snap of the football.
Uzomah stepped up to the plate this season and posted career-high marks across the board during the regular season with 49 receptions, 493 receiving yards and 5 touchdowns. The Auburn product had also racked up 135 yards and 1 touchdown on 13 receptions through the first two playoff games.
More updates should be released regarding Uzomah's status in the next two weeks, but things seem to be trending in the right direction for now. The Bengals head into a Super Bowl matchup against the Los Angeles Rams as 4-point underdogs, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
