With the MLB season kicking off today, it's not too late to place your bets about the stars of the 2019 campaign. Forget about all the big bats that dominate the league and focus on the hurlers who sit them down, game after game. There are a ton of talented arms in MLB, but only a few who really have a chance to lead the league in wins.

Two of those, in Chris Sale and Max Scherzer, are tied with the best odds to lead baseball in victories this coming season at +650, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

It does seem like big names reign supreme over last season's performances.

This is no shot at Scherzer or Sale as both players are perennial Cy Young candidates in their respective leagues. Sale dealt with injuries for much of the season, but it's still going to be tough for him to string together at least eight more wins than last season. For Scherzer, the Nationals' lineup is still stacked, but he'll have to deal with a lineup that no longer features Bryce Harper to support him with runs.

Corey Kluber (+800) is an interesting pick, after finishing behind last year's wins leader Blake Snell, who has the eighth-best odds at +2400, but the Indians' offense isn't expected to be as potent as it has been in season's past.

Luis Severino (+1000) and Clayton Kershaw (+2200) would be better picks if they weren't expected to miss the first few weeks of the season, and their odds reflect that. Jacob deGrom (+1300) could back up his 2018 Cy Young season with a big year and Justin Verlander (+1600), who is still one of the best pitchers in baseball heading into his 16th season, finished 2018 with the most strikeouts in a single season during his Hall of Fame career.

No matter who you choose here, buckle up, because baseball season is about to get underway.
