Chris Carson Fantasy Outlook Comes With Underrated High RB2 Value in 2021
By Larry Rupp

Relying on the rushing attack has recently become a strategy for the Seattle Seahawks due to the strong performance of running back Chris Carson. The fifth-year pro looks poised for another impressive season and enters the fall as an underrated high RB2 option in fantasy football leagues.

Chris Carson Fantasy Value
Carson has shown an ability to take over on offense averaging 4.6 yards per attempt in his career to go along with 28 total touchdowns in 45 games played. Drafting the No. 1 RB on the Seahawks that can battle for fringe RB1 value in the best case scenario seems like an easy decision to make.
The only thing holding him back is his health as the 26-year-old has missed a total of five games due to injury over the last two years. However, the Seahawks proved how much they believe in Carson as the team signed him to a new two-year deal worth almost $15 million this past offseason.
The physicality of Carson is what sets him apart from other top running backs in the NFL. He has proven to be one of the toughest players to bring down on the field. In fact, he averages the fifth-most yards after contact per rush (3.4) amongst running backs with at least 100 carries since 2017.
It is no secret that the Seahawks are an explosive offense and may be even better this season given the hiring of new offensive coordinator Shane Waldron. Head coach Pete Carroll simply loves to run the ball as Seattle ranked No. 12 in the NFL averaging 123.9 rushing yards per game in 2020.
Chris Carson ADP
Carson comes with an average draft position of No. 35 overall and No. 19 amongst running backs in PPR leagues, according to FantasyPros. Don't sleep on a player that has finished RB19 or higher in each of the last three seasons. Carson could end up as a steal this year.
