Chiefs Re-Signing Key Depth Piece From Most Recent Super Bowl Wins

The Kansas City Chiefs have enjoyed a magical run of success during the Patrick Mahomes era. Though the likes of Mahomes and Travis Kelce get the bulk of attention for their efforts to win two Super Bowls since 2019, there are a ton of role players that also helped make those dreams come true.
Now the Chiefs are set to bring back a key depth piece who's been part of both recent championship squads.

Kansas City is re-signing offensive lineman Nick Allegretti, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. His rookie contract expired following this season, but KC moved quickly to bring him back.
It's been quite an incredible journey for Allegretti, who was a seventh-round draft pick by the Chiefs back in 2019. He's gone on to play in 57 games (including 12 starts) over the past four years, becoming an important O-line depth option and special teams contributor.
Allegretti's also played in all three recent Super Bowl appearances by Kansas City, even starting in 2021 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Fans will likely most remember him, though, for his awesome trick play touchdown catch during the 2022 postseason.

It's great to see a player with a ton of experience sticking around in Kansas City. Maybe he'll hear his number called for another TD opportunity in 2023.
