The Kansas City Chiefs have an AFC Championship Game date with the Cincinnati Bengals this weekend, but that hasn't stopped them from being a part of the free agency rumor mill.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported Friday that he expects the Chiefs to pursue a certain big-name wide receiver free agent. That man is none other than current Los Angeles Rams wideout Odell Beckham Jr.

Odell Beckham Chiefs Rumors

Fowler reported that since the Rams have a combined $34 million committed to Robert Woods and Cooper Kupp in 2022, the likelihood of Beckham leaving is high. He added that it makes sense for the three-time Pro-Bowler to join a team like the Chiefs, who's a contender with a "strong" locker room culture.

The Chiefs have tried several wideout options to start opposite to Tyreek Hill, but none of them has worked. Mecole Harmand and Byron Pringle have both had their fair share of opportunities, however, neither man has shown the consistency that's required in a No. 2 WR.

A player of Beckham's caliber would easily solve that issue. In the 10 games (including playoffs) that he's played with the Rams, the 29-year-old has recorded 37 receptions for 428 yards and 6 touchdowns.

Free agency rumors are hardly a guarantee, but signing Beckham to a contract would help ensure that the Chiefs remain Super Bowl contenders in 2022 and beyond.
