Chiefs Get Update on L'Jarius Sneed After Popping Up on Injury Report

The Kansas City Chiefs had plenty of injuries coming off their win in the AFC Championship Game over the Cincinnati Bengals, but Kansas City also had a late addition to the injury report this week in cornerback L'Jarius Sneed.

L'Jarius Sneed Injury Update

Sneed was added to the injury report on Thursday with a knee injury. However, the good news is that it didn't keep him out of practice. Additionally, it looks like it won't affect his status for the Super Bowl and he is still expected to suit up and play.

A healthy secondary will be paramount for the Chiefs in the Super Bowl. Not only to cover the Philadelphia Eagles' talented group of receivers, but also to give the defensive line enough time to disrupt Jalen Hurts. Kansas City did a great job of this during the regular season, ranking No. 2 in the NFL in sacks per game. The only team ahead of them, though, was Philadelphia.

Sneed turned in the best season of his career in 2022, starting in all 17 games while recording career highs in interceptions (3), forced fumbles (3), sacks (3.5), passes defended (11) and tackles (108). Suffice it to say, he's a key part of the Chiefs' defense and having him available for Sunday will be huge.

Kansas City is currently a 1.5-point underdog against Philadelphia in Super Bowl LVII, according to FanDuel Sportsbook's latest NFL odds.
