With NFL free agency rapidly approaching, teams are cutting down their rosters to free up cap space. That has added some very interesting players to this year's loaded pool of available free agents.

Bleacher Report has projected one of these recent cuts to sign with the Kansas City Chiefs — former Minnesota Vikings tackle Riley Reiff.

Forced to make some big cuts of their own to fix their precarious salary cap situation, the Chiefs released both Eric Fisher and Mitchell Schwartz. Fisher's injury means he likely wouldn't have been ready for Week 1 anyway, but these cuts have clearly left offensive tackle as a massive area of need for KC.

And after watching what happened to Patrick Mahomes in the Super Bowl, Chiefs fans can't be feeling good about having a hole at such an important position.

Riley Reiff would be the perfect veteran signing to fill that hole.

Reiff struggled as a run blocker in 2020, receiving a weak 60.8 grade from Pro Football Focus. That's not where the Chiefs need their tackles to excel, however.

As a pass blocker, Reiff received a much stronger grade of 74.9. For context, Austin Reiter was the only current Chiefs lineman with a higher pass blocking grade in 2020.

At 32 years old and having just been released from a contract paying him $11.8 million per year, Reiff should be available at a reasonable price tag, making him a good fit for a Chiefs team that just freed up some space by restructuring Mahomes' deal.
