The Los Angeles Chargers announced on Friday that they have placed offensive tackle Bryan Bulaga on the injured reserve. With him being out of the lineup for at least the next three weeks, the Chargers have brought back a familiar face by signing veteran guard Michael Schofield.
A former Super Bowl champion with the Denver Broncos, Schofield played three seasons with the Chargers from 2017 to 2019, starting in all 32 games over his final two years with the team.

Schofield most recently spent the 2020 NFL season as a member of the Carolina Panthers, starting in three of the 11 games that he played in. He played a total of 270 offensive snaps for the Panthers, taking 3 penalties while allowing 4 sacks.
While Schofield's 50.3 overall Pro Football Focus grade from last year shows that's he far from being one of the league's best at the position, he brings veteran experience to a young Chargers team.
Schofield's first chance at playing for his old-now-new team will be Sunday as the Chargers are scheduled to host the Dallas Cowboys. Los Angeles is currently the 3.5-point home favorite, according to FanDuel Sportsbook, with -104 odds that it will cover the spread.
