Chad Ochocinco was never one to shy away from the limelight, whether during his playing days or in retirement.

The most recent instance of this came when he doubled down on some very strange claims about something he used to do while playing in the NFL.

These aren't recent claims, either. Looking at his Twitter feed, Ochocinco has plenty of mentions of taking Viagra before games. He was even caught mic'd up on the sidelines saying this during a game.

Viagra is certainly a performance enhancing drug, but it's not usually associated with the kind of performance you want on the football field.

Athletes all have their own strange traditions, superstitions, rituals and ways they think they're finding an edge. Whether the Viagra actually did anything for Ochocinco physically, or whether it just gave him a mental boost in feeling like he had an edge, it certainly did the trick.

Ochocinco was a two-time All-Pro with the Cincinnati Bengals, recording three straight 1,300-yard seasons from 2005 to 2007.
