Carlos Hyde Injury Brings More Bad News for Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks got some tough injury news on Monday, learning Chris Carson will be sidelined by his mid-foot injury. But with Carlos Hyde backing up Carson, that wasn't going to have too much of an impact on the offense, right?
Not so fast. Hyde is dealing with an injury of his own, which threatens to leave the Seahawks very thin at RB heading into a crucial Week 8 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers.

Now, having "hamstring tightness" early in the week isn't the end of the world, and there's still room for optimism that Hyde can suit up. But soft tissue injuries can be very tricky. It could be fine, but it could also linger and end up sidelining Hyde. It could also simply limit his effectiveness when he is on the field, or he could aggravate the injury while running during the game. That uncertainty makes hamstring injuries so frustrating and hard to predict.
Hyde got heavily involved in the Seattle offense for the first time in Week 7, turning 15 carries into 68 yards with 1 touchdown.
If both Carson and Hyde can't go against San Fran, it will be Travis Homer and DeeJay Dallas tasked with picking up the slack. The two have combined for just 20 carries for 76 yards and 7 receptions for 40 yards on the season.
Seahawks fans will be monitoring Hyde's status closely, with their fingers crossed, as a key NFC West matchup looms on Sunday.
