The Arizona Cardinals fought up to the very last week of the regular season, but just missed making the playoffs with a 10-6 record in 2020. Quarterback Kyler Murray is making sure to use the team's lack of success as motivation and heads into the fall with his eyes set on a postseason berth.

Cardinals News

Arizona selected Murray No. 1 overall in the 2019 NFL Draft and he has played well as the team's starting quarterback. However, he has yet to see playoff action and it's safe to say he is not happy about it. The 23-year-old signal-caller said it has been frustrating to see the team fall short.

"I want to win. Not going to the playoffs is weird for me. I know it’s the NFL and I haven’t been yet, but I’ve always played past the regular season, in every sport. It’s different."

Every great QB has something in the back of their mind that keeps them motivated and Cardinals fans should be glad to see Murray does, too. He is coming off an improved second season in which he racked up 3,971 passing yards, 819 rushing yards and accounted for 37 total touchdowns.

The 2021 season seems to be a make it or break it type of season for the Cardinals as the pieces are in place for this team to be a legitimate Super Bowl contender. Head coach Kliff Kingsbury could be coaching for his job if this talented roster struggles early on.

Arizona currently has odds set at +176 to make the playoffs and odds set at +4400 to take home the Lombardi Trophy, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
