The Los Angeles Rams' backfield has been really difficult to figure out, from a fantasy perspective. Cam Akers, Malcolm Brown and Darrell Henderson all look to be significantly involved, making it really difficult to know which running back to trust.

Brown and Henderson had been a bit more reliable lately, though, as Akers has essentially missed the last three games with a rib injury he suffered early in a Week 2 game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Set to make his return in Week 5, all three running backs will be difficult to trust on Sunday.

Cam Akers Fantasy Outlook

Akers played 33 percent of the snaps against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1, turning 14 carries into 39 yards. We haven't really seen him since. It's obviously an extremely small sample size, but that's a pretty glaring lack of production given how terrible the Cowboys' defense has been.

It's unfair to hold that against him much, but he'll be competing with two other running backs for touches. He needs to be extremely efficient if he's going to return any fantasy value at all. That could prove difficult against the Washington Football Team's stout defensive line.

Malcolm Brown Fantasy Outlook

Brown has out-snapped Henderson 106 to 85 over the past three weeks, suggesting he's the team's "lead back." He's never had a snap share above 61percent this season, though, so it's not like he has a stranglehold on the job.

He also has been held under 50 rushing yards in each of the last three weeks and doesn't provide much through the air, turning a healthy 12 targets into an inefficient 8 receptions for 50 yards. With Akers likely to eat into his workload, Brown isn't worth starting unless you're in a deeper league.

Darrell Henderson Fantasy Outlook

If you absolutely need to start one of these three, Henderson is your best bet. He missed most of Week 1 but has averaged 13.3 carries for 72.3 rushing yards per game, adding 1.3 receptions on 2.3 targets for 20.7 receiving yards per game. He's proven to be a much more explosive back than Brown.

In fact, Henderson has out-gained him with 279 yards from scrimmage to Brown's 122 over the last three weeks, despite the fact that Brown has been out-snapping Henderson. Like Brown, however, Akers' return does ding his value a bit.

Henderson the only Rams' back worth a Week 5 start, and he does have some season-long upside if he continues to play this well and potentially earns himself a bigger role.
