Cam Akers was breaking out at just the right time for fantasy managers. He was a true workhorse from Weeks 13 to 15, racking up 350 yards from scrimmage on 69 touches across those four games.

News broke on Monday that he will be out for at least Week 16, however, crushing his fantasy outlook. That does, however, give Darrell Henderson and Malcolm Brown big boosts in value for most fantasy leagues' championship week.

Cam Akers Injury Update

This ankle injury comes with terrible timing for Akers. After not playing more than 33% of the Los Angeles Rams' offensive snaps even once through Week 12, he's played over 60% in each of the last three games.

That workload, which has included averages of 21.7 carries and 2.3 targets per game, will be divvied up by Brown and Henderson, greatly improving each of their outlooks.

Malcolm Brown Fantasy Outlook

It's hard to know how the workload will shake out when even Sean McVay doesn't know, but early indications are that Brown could be the one to handle more work.

Brown played over twice as many snaps as Henderson (16 to 7) in Week 15, and he also out-snapped Henderson in the three-game stretch before Akers took over as a bell cow.

Darrell Henderson Fantasy Outlook

Of course, in an offense that has favored committee backfields, Henderson should get plenty of work even if he's serving as the RB2.

He's also averaged an efficient 4.5 yards per rush (and 9.9 yards per reception), suggesting he doesn't need a full workload to offer some fantasy upside.

This week's matchup against the Seattle Seahawks gives both backs a boost as well. Seattle checks in at 19th in Football Outsiders' defensive DVOA metric and has allowed the league's 10th-most PPR fantasy points per game to opposing running backs.
