Tom Brady's potential retirement seems like it's been talked about for years now. Every season NFL fans wonder if it will be his last, but he's showing little signs of slowing down. Father Time is undefeated and one day Brady will have to call it quits, which means the Tampa Bay Buccaneers may have to start thinking of his potential replacement.

NFL analyst Booger McFarland appeared recently discussed who the Buccaneers could select in the 2021 NFL Draft to be Brady's heir.

McFarland suggested that Florida Gators quarterback Kyle Trask would be an appropriate successor in Tampa. While primarily talking about how Trask would be a fit for the Pittsburgh Steelers, McFarland said that he would be "good" for the Buccaneers too.

Trask has had an impressive college career with the Gators. Including college bowl stats, Trask recorded 7,386 passing yards and threw 69 touchdowns to 15 interceptions in three seasons with Florida. He's never been a mobile quarterback, but he also added 8 rushing touchdowns in his college career as well.

Trask also proved that he's a good locker room asset when he won the 2020 Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award. While it's given to the top offensive player in Division I college football, it also takes into consideration things like leadership, sportsmanship and a relationship with the community.

At the end of the day, Brady could end up playing for another few years if his body keeps cooperating. This could end up benefitting Trask should the Buccaneers select him in the draft. There are very few who have a mind for the game like Brady does. If he's able to pass even half of that information onto Trask, the Buccaneers could extend their era of dominance for years to come.
