But while Mickelson currently tops the leaderboard, his chances of winning his fifth major title tell a different story, according to golf odds at FanDuel Sportsbook.
PGA Championship Odds 2021
Four-time major champion Brooks Koepka has surged to the top of the odds board and is the new favorite to win the PGA Championship and hoist the Wanamaker Trophy. Koepka's odds to win are +450 after he shot a very solid 1-under par in the afternoon wave Friday as more golfers struggled in the windier conditions on the Ocean Course. Pre-tournament odds show Koepka was +3700 to win the PGA Championship.
Koepka has some solid challengers on moving day, and faces a still challenge Saturday and into Round 4 Sunday. Major champion Louis Oosthuizen (+550) is tied for the lead with lefty and will play in the final round with Mickelson on Saturday.
The 2021 Masters champion Hideki Matsuyama (+650) is just two shots off the lead and one of the major contender to win his second major. Mickelson is still +1200 to win along with big bomber Bryson DeChambeau (+1200), who is 1-under par and four shots off the lead as Saturday action begins.
