A disappointing 16-9 defeat at the hands of the New York Jets wasn't the only thing the Denver Broncos lost in Week 7. Backup running back Mike Boone played in just 11% of the offensive snaps after going down with an ankle injury, and there's fear around him missing an extended amount of time.

Fortunately, Denver was quick to address this latest running back injury.

The Broncos signed veteran backup Marlon Mack to the active roster late on Sunday night. Mack joins the roster from the San Francisco 49ers practice squad, and Adam Schefter reports he's already ready to fly with the team to London for Denver's Week 8 clash against the Jaguars.

San Francisco used Mack on a limited basis this season as the sixth-year pro has only played a total of 5 special teams snaps. He spent the previous five years with the Indianapolis Colts, including an RB1 role from 2018-19 where he tallied 1999 yards and 17 touchdowns across two seasons.

This is yet another injury for Denver's running back room as the team continues to work around replacing the talented Javonte Williams.

The Broncos head into Week 8 as 3.5-point "road" underdogs, per NFL odds on FanDuel Sportsbook.
