Odell Beckham Jr. began his three-team free agency tour on Thursday with the team that drafted him, the New York Giants. He will follow that up with visits to the Buffalo Bills this weekend and Dallas Cowboys early next week.
Giants head coach Brian Daboll briefly spoke about and acknowledged the visit with Odell began on Thursday. He quickly explained that they had a good and productive dinner, but wouldn't say much more than that. When pushed for further info, he did concede he had "a great steak."
On top of the emotional side of the Giants being the team that drafted Beckham, they do hold one advantage over the other teams. Beckham would instantly become the team's No. 1 target. The Giants receiving corps is hurt at best and terrible at worst, they need him badly, even if he's not fully bounced back from his ACL injury.
However, maybe that's not attractive to Beckham. Maybe he wants to step into a similarly complimentary role like he did last year with the Los Angeles Rams.
A decision form Beckham is expected sometime next week after he has completed his visits. Only then will we know his true motivations.
