Replacing a Cy Young Award winner is never easy and after Blake Snell was placed on the IL earlier today, his fantasy baseball owners will have to do just that. Thankfully, there are some pitchers on waiver wire that could serve as decent stop-gap options to replace Snell.

3. Brad Keller, SP, Kansas City Royals

Brad Keller has been pitching really well lately, surrendering four earned runs over his last 27 innings pitched. He won't strikeout many opposing hitters (92 Ks in 132 innings pitched), but if he maintains this pace he could pick up some wins and help mitigate the loss of Snell.

2. Adam Wainwright, SP, St. Louis Cardinals

Adam Wainwright isn't nearly as effective as he once was, but the St. Louis Cardinals starter has proven he still has something left in the tank. He's struggled in his last two starts, allowing 11 earned runs in 8 1/3 innings pitched, but he was pitching quite well before this recent rough patch. In his three prior starts, he had surrendered four earned runs in 18 1/3 innings pitched. Wainwright's numbers likely won't wow you, but he's a good pitcher on a good team which increases his fantasy value in the short term.

1. Chase Anderson, SP, Milwaukee Brewers

Chase Anderson has been solid this season, posting a 3.90 ERA and 81 Ks in 83 innings pitched. He's also been pretty effective recently, surrendering two earned runs in his last 11 1/3 innings pitched. He's a reliable arm on a likely playoff team who can help your fantasy team, potentially for the remainder of the 2019 MLB season.
