After advancing to the 2020 AFC Championship Game, the Buffalo Bills are hungry for more success in 2021. Fortunately, they have one of the top offenses in the entire league, especially as quarterback Josh Allen is ready to improve on his breakout performance last season. While the Bills brought in a pass-catcher like Emmanuel Sanders to help improve the offense, one position that the team didn't really address was tight end.

That's good news for Dawson Knox, who is itching to be the Bills No. 1 TE. However, one thing that has held him back in the past is his consistency. To hopefully be a better pass-catcher for Buffalo, Knox took a unique step to prepare for the 2021 season: he decided to work with a vision specialist this offseason.

Knox said his primary reason for seeking out a vision specialist was because he didn't want to drop touchdowns. Considering how he has 14 drops over his first two seasons, it makes sense that he'd do what he could to address the issue. Knox ended up working with Performance Vision coach Ryan Harrison, who told Syracuse.com about the process.

"There is some software that we use and some hands-on, manual things and he'll [Knox] do a lot of movement with his body while he's identifying and recognizing things while he's processing information. We do it statically and dynamically."

Dawson caught just 54.5% of his targets in 2020 for 24 receptions, 288 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns. Out of his 44 targets, the 24-year-old had 4 drops, which doesn't exactly paint him as being a reliable pass-catching target. Nevertheless, the hope is that Harrison will help Knox to the point where he can excel in the No. 1 tight end role.

Buffalo will need Knox to be at the top of his game if they want to win a championship next season. The Bills currently have the 3rd-best odds to win the Super Bowl at +1200, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. Their odds trail only those of the Kansas City Chiefs (+500) and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+650).
