The Buffalo Bills haven't played a live down of football for almost seven months following their Divisional Round loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. That'll change on Saturday when preseason action gets underway. Buffalo will host the Indianapolis Colts at Highmark Stadium starting at 4 p.m. ET.

This'll be a perfect opportunity for Bills fans to get to know the rookies and newcomers on the roster. On Thursday morning, head coach Sean McDermott revealed his starting quarterback plans for the game. Plans that do not include Pro Bowler Josh Allen seeing a single snap in the backfield.

Bills vs Colts Preseason

This shouldn't come as a major shock. Allen appeared in only one preseason game last year and avoiding any kind of injury risk is a smart move by the Bills. McDermott explained that a decision has not been made regarding the rest of the starters, though. Those will come on an individual basis.

As for the quarterback position, expect to see a lot of backups Case Keenum and Matt Barkley. Keenum was acquired via trade this offseason and owns a 29-35 record as a starting QB. The 34-year-old has also thrown 78 touchdowns compared to 48 interceptions across 76 career games.

The 2022 season will be Barkley's fourth with Buffalo and he has only started one game for them during that span. That was a 41-10 win over the New York Jets back in 2018. Overall, the USC product averages 142.1 passing yards per game and has tossed 11 touchdowns across 19 appearances.

The Bills are slated as a 1-point home underdog against the Colts on Saturday with odds set at +100 on the moneyline, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. The total is set at 35 points.
