The Buffalo Bills fell short in the NFL Playoffs, but seem to be right on the cusp of a Super Bowl appearance. The missing piece to the puzzle could very well be a young playmaker hidden in the upcoming NFL Draft. Todd McShay projects the Bills to opt for defense in his latest 2022 mock draft.

Bills Mock Draft

McShay believes Buffalo will be the landing spot for Clemson cornerback Andrew Booth Jr. at No. 25 overall. It's worth noting that a number of other mock drafts feature Booth sneaking into the top 20. The Bills would be lucky if he fell to their spot given the potential he possesses to start from day one.

It's not hard to understand why the Bills are in the market for an upgrade in the secondary. The team struggled to stop opposing passing attacks when All-Pro Tre'Davious White went down during the 2021 season. Meanwhile, fellow starter Levi Wallace is expected to test the waters in free agency.

Finding a new partner for White should be a top priority and Booth fits the mold well. The 21-year-old ballhawk posted a career-high 3 interceptions during his final season as a Tiger and broke up 5 passes as well. Booth also has the athleticism needed to play press, man-to-man or zone coverage.

The Bills posted the best total DVOA rating in the NFL this past season and know how important it is to have depth on the defensive side of the ball. It'll be interesting to see if Booth is available when Buffalo is on the clock during the NFL Draft. It all goes down starting on Thursday, April 28.
