The Buffalo Bills filled their vacant offensive coordinator job on Tuesday by promoting quarterbacks coach Ken Dorsey to the position. It seems like the team has already replaced him as well. Former Carolina Panthers offensive coordinator Joe Brady is expected to be hired as the new QBs coach.
It's not hard to remember how Brady was notably fired during the 2021 season thanks to the Panthers' 5-7 start. The team saw underwhelming play at the quarterback position and its offensive line ranked as one of the worst in the league. All things considered, it simply did not go well.
Brady saw a lot of success before his time in Carolina, though. Of course, his name garnered national attention after he helped guide the LSU Tigers to a National Championship in 2019. He was the team's passing game coordinator and worked with players such as Joe Burrow and Ja'Marr Chase.
The 32-year-old coach now gets to work with another star QB in Buffalo's Josh Allen. The Pro Bowl signal-caller is coming off a season in which he threw for 4,407 yards, 36 touchdowns and 15 interceptions. Allen also added in 763 yards on the ground and tallied 6 rushing scores.
Many expected Bills assistant quarterbacks coach Shea Tierney to take over the job. However, he followed Brain Daboll to the New York Giants and become the quarterbacks coach there. Brady now has a shot to bounce back and show the NFL world why his firing was just a bump in the road.
