Bills Defender Lands Hefty PED Suspension for 2022 Season

The Buffalo Bills have spent the offseason reloading their roster, adding talents like James Cook, Kaiir Elam and Von Miller. But their special teams depth has taken a hit, as fifth-year pro Andre Smith will miss the first six games of the season due to a PED suspension.

Andre Smith PED Suspension
Smith hasn't exactly been a key cog in Buffalo's defense, but he's a solid rotational piece. In two seasons with the Bills, he has 19 tackles, 1 tackle for loss and a forced fumble. The 25-year-old is primarily a special teams player, seeing at least 62% of the special teams snaps in his two seasons with the Bills.
He didn't play a single defensive snap in 2021 and only saw 47 snaps on defense in 2020.
Smith will be a free agent after this season, and Buffalo may elect to cut him rather than carry him until he returns. He'd only carry a dead cap hit of $125,000 this season.
Hopefully, can Smith can get back on track once he's back on the field.
