Bills Being Disrespected by Odds in Patriots Game

The Buffalo Bills are 5-2 for the second straight season. Of course, last year they actually achieved a 6-2 record and their second playoff berth since 1999, but the big difference is that they currently have a 1.5-game lead in the AFC East this time around, and a 2.5-game lead over the New England Patriots.
Bills vs Patriots Spread Week 8
Despite the fact that the Bills have been shaky in recent weeks (1-2 in their last three with a narrow 8-point victory over the winless New York Jets on Sunday), the Patriots have been far worse. After their home blowout loss to the San Francisco 49ers this weekend, New England finally had its first three-game losing streak since 2002.
33-6. It has ended. The Patriots are 2-4, multiple games under .500 for the first time since 2001 and dealing with their first three-game losing streak since 2002.

Now the two rivals face off in their first head-to-head of 2020, and the spread opens up with the Bills as 4-point favorites in Buffalo, on FanDuel Sportsbook.
This seems low considering how poorly New England has played on offense and defense over their last few outings. Cam Newton was benched after throwing three interceptions on Sunday, and Josh Allen is an early MVP candidate despite his numbers dipping of late. Both defenses have taken a step back from last year, but there is no question that Buffalo is the better all-around team right now.
This 4-point number has a lot to do with the oddsmakers respecting Bill Belichick, and in turn disrespecting Sean McDermott's Bills. A home setting for a division favorite facing a 2-4 team would normally merit a six or 7-point spread.
It's also due to recent head-to-head record. Buffalo has not beaten New England since October of 2016. Josh Allen has never beaten them. That seven game win streak is courtesy of Tom Brady's Patriots though, not Cam Newton's. It's important to remember that the two are not one and the same.
