The Kansas City Chiefs shoot for their second straight Super Bowl win on Sunday, Feb. 7. The NFL odds at FanDuel Sportsbook show the Chiefs are a 3-point favorite over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Super Bowl 55.
Last year's Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes is the most popular player in Super Bowl player prop bets. But if you're looking to get a little more creative with your wagering this weekend, then here are 3 Kansas City Chiefs prop bets to add to your prop portfolio.
1. Will Kansas City Chiefs Score More Points In?: Second Half (-125)
The Super Bowls have historically had more scoring in the second half. Teams hold nothing back with everything on the line in the NFL's championship game. The Chiefs scored 21 fourth quarter points in last year's Super Bowl victoy, and this prop favors more second half scoring.
2. Winning Margin: Chiefs 6 to 10 Points (+470)
If you like the Chiefs to win the Super Bowl, then a correct winning margin can pay off much more than just a moneyline bet. It's hard to envision Tom Brady getting blown out in a Super Bowl, but the KC offense is one of the best the NFL has ever seen, so a win by more than a field goal seems likely. That makes the 6-to-10 point band a very appealing one, as it covers some key numbers (6, 7 and 10 points are all very common margins of victory in the NFL).
3. Total Yardage All Kansas City Chiefs Touchdowns: Over 66.5 yards (-115)
The Chiefs have so many explosive offensive weapons, and this prop yardage will also include any special teams or defensive scores (which tend to be longer plays) as well. In the 27-24 Week 12 win over Tampa Bay, Kansas City receiver Tyreek Hill had touchdown catches of 75, 44 and 20 yards. That's despite Tampa's defense ranking top-5 in Football Outsiders Defensive DVOA rankings. The Buccaneers defense is playing better since that game and will use more two man coverages and disguised looks, but the Chiefs offense ranks No. 2 in Offensive DVOA and top 3 in the league in average explosive pass rate and overall explosive play rate.
