The Cincinnati Bengals head into the 2021 season looking to make the playoffs or the first time since 2015. Quarterback Joe Burrow leads the offense in what will be his second NFL season and the team received a great injury update on one of his offensive weapons.

Tight end C.J. Uzomah announced that he will be fully healthy and ready to go for 2021 after suffering a season-ending Achilles injury in Week 2 of last year. Uzomah had already hauled in 8 receptions for 87 yards and 1 touchdown during his time played with Burrow prior to the injury.

C.J. Uzomah Injury Update

The Bengals will likely still ease Uzomah back into practices and during training camp, but this is the best news they could've gotten. He will need to impress during the summer in order to challenge Drew Sample (40 receptions, 349 yards in 2020) for playing time next season.

The Bengals also recently signed free agent Thaddeus Moss to join the tight end room. It certainly seemed like Burrow and Uzomah had an early connection brewing last season. In fact, it was Uzomah that caught Burrow's first career NFL touchdown pass as well.

It's also notable to keep an eye on whether or not Cincinnati drafts a tight end such as Kyle Pitts when they are on the clock at the end of the month. No matter what, the offense receives an upgrade with Uzomah back and healthy.
