The Cincinnati Bengals will welcome a few familiar faces to OTAs and training camp this summer in the form of several starters returning from injuries. Of course, this was highlighted by quarterback Joe Burrow, but the defense also got a boost with the return of D.J. Reader.
Reader suffered a torn quad in Week 5 last year, ending a terrific start to his first year with the Bengals. However, the good news is that his rehab's on track and he'll be ready to go in time for next season.
Reader is in attendance at Bengals OTAs, but just working out on the side. He told the media that "he's feeling good and confident," and "will be ready to go when it's time to go."
This is awesome news for Bengals fans, especially after a glimpse of Reader in Weeks 1-5 last season. The defensive tackle racked up 19 combined tackles, including 8 solo, 1 tackle for loss, and 1 QB hit in just 5 games.
Currently, the Bengals enter training camps with longshot odds to win the AFC North (+2300), according to the latest NFL odds on FanDuel Sportsbook. This team will look to improve upon their 4-11-1 record last season.
