Best Remaining Destinations for Austin Reiter in Free Agency
By Larry Rupp

As free agency rolls on, a number of big name players remain unsigned including offensive lineman Austin Reiter. Reiter has excelled as the Kansas City Chiefs starting center over the last three seasons and has surrendered just 3 sacks and 16 total pressures during that span.
There are many NFL teams that need help along the line, which means Reiter should have no problem drawing interest in his search for a team to call home. With that being said, here are three of the best remaining free-agent destination for Reiter.
1. Houston Texans
If Reiter wants to sign a long-term deal, his best option may be the Houston Texans. The Texans current projected starting center Justin McCray has had just 19 starts in 5 NFL seasons and is not a likely future franchise player fo the team. Reiter could step in and bring veteran experience to a team that is sorely lacking in that department. The Texans may address this need through the draft instead, but they should not overlook the benefits to signing Reiter in free agency. He's the real deal.
2. Los Angeles Rams
The Rams lost starting center Austin Blythe to free agency this offseason and suddenly have a glaring need at the position. Their cap space may be running a bit thin, but the Rams could figure it out if they decide that Reiter is the center they want and need. Reiter will be 29 years old entering next season and could be a valuable future player on this Rams roster. Signing him to a deal would mean the Rams would not have to worry about the center position for at least the next few years.
3. Kansas City Chiefs
There is definitely a shot that Reiter ends up back in Kansas City. It's been reported that the team has already offered him a contract, but that he is currently weighing his options. Chiefs projected center Darryl Williams joined the team just last season as an undrafted free agent and has yet to play a single snap in the NFL. Signing Reiter would ensure the Chiefs are able to keep quarterback Patrick Mahomes safe in the pocket. Bringing him back should be among the top priorities for Kansas City.
