All things considered, the No. 16 ranking is nothing to scoff at. According to ESPN's FPI system, Auburn actually has the second-toughest schedule in the country. They'll have a lot of work cut out for them this season, but it's certainly doable.
The Tigers will have a lot of exciting players to work with next season. QB Bo Nix will be returning for his third season at Auburn. So far, Nix has thrown for 4,957 passing yards and 28 touchdowns to 13 interceptions. He'll be surrounded by a talented class that includes WR Ja'Varrius Johnson, a 4-star athlete that's expected to have a big role in the team's offense. Sophomore RB Tank Bigsby will also return this season. Bigsby had an impressive rookie showing in 2020 to the tune of 918 all-purpose yards and 5 touchdowns.
As it stands, the Auburn Tigers have +10000 odds to win the college national championship, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
