Astros Record is Even Worse Than What You Think

Even with their past cheating scandal uncovered, the Houston Astros entered the 2020 MLB season among the favorites to win the World Series. That has quickly changed, as they've fallen flat with a 15-13 record to open the 2020 season.
Looking even deeper at their record, we see that the Astros have been even worse than you might think.
The Astros lost 5-3. They are 15-13.

Fernando Tatís Jr. is very good. The Astros are now 0-8 against teams at or above .500.
Houston has yet to win a single game against a team that currently holds a winning record — going 15-5 against losing teams and 0-8 against teams at .500 or better.
They're clearly benefiting in a big way from the makeup of this year's schedule, as three of the five teams in the NL West and three of their four opponents in the AL West hold records below .500, which has allowed the Astros to pad their record.
Their soft divisional matchups may allow Houston to cobble together a decent regular season record, but this team looks poised to completely unravel come playoff time when they're forced to take on some top competition.
