Angels Lineup Catches Bad Break With Anthony Rendon Injury Update

The Los Angeles Angels were glad to get one of their better hitters back in the lineup last week as Anthony Rendon made his return from a wrist injury. The star third baseman re-aggravated that same issue on Tuesday night, though, leaving his status up in the air. He is merely day-to-day right now.
Anthony Rendon exited tonight's game early because he re-aggravated the right wrist injury that recently forced him to miss a couple of weeks. Bad news for an Angels lineup that was just starting to become whole again.

Anthony Rendon Injury Update
Rendon had to exit the team's contest against the Los Angeles Dodgers, but interim manager Phil Nevin said the coaching staff was ready for this sort of thing. The 32-year-old spent nearly two weeks on the injured list with right wrist inflammation and it looks like he may not be 100% healthy quite yet.
That is what he told reporters after the game, too. Rendon said that the injury "might be lingering for a while." The plan moving forward is to get treatment every day and go from there. Getting the All-Star back into form would provide LA with a scary batting trio alongside Shohei Ohtani and Mike Trout.
Rendon's only hit in his 13 plate appearances since coming back was a weakly hit double down the left field line. He never really looked comfortable at the plate. Overall, he is slashing .228/.324/.383 on the season to go along with 15 runs scored, 10 doubles, 5 home runs, 24 RBI and 2 stolen bases.
The Angels will look to keep climbing back toward the .500 mark on Wednesday with another tilt against the Dodgers on tap. Nevin's squad currently owns a 29-34 record and has odds set at +4000 to win the World Series, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
