Andy Reid Provides Offseason Update on Patrick Mahomes' Ankle Injury
The biggest postseason storyline for the Kansas City Chiefs centered around quarterback Patrick Mahomes' ankle injury. Despite the initial fears, though, Mahomes led his team to the Super Bowl and another ring.
Still, fans are curious about how Mahomes is holding up a month removed from live games. Head coach Andy Reid has fortunately provided an update on his QB's health.
Reid told NFL Network at Saturday's Annual League Meeting that Mahomes is "doing good" and he "feels good" following the injury. The head coach added his quarterback got "right back" into workouts after the season ended.
"This time, he jumped right back into workouts and working the ankle, rehabbing the ankle. He's lifting and running the parts that he could run, and he didn't miss a beat on that."- Andy Reid on Patrick Mahomes
This is an all-around fantastic update on the reigning MVP. The issue wasn't serious enough to require any kind of procedure, and Mahomes was able to get back to work immediately after the Chiefs took care of business in the Super Bowl.
All of this points to Mahomes being at peak performance when training camp rolls around this summer. He'll look to avoid any reaggravations in the meantime as he rehabs himself back to 100%.
