After managing key injuries during March, Tom Izzo's Michigan State Spartans find themselves on top of Andy Katz's latest NCAAM power rankings, ahead of Kansas, Kentucky and Duke.

The reigning national champion, the Virginia Cavaliers, come in at No. 13 in Katz's top-36 power rankings. Last year's national championship runner-up, the Texas Tech Red Raiders, find themselves at No. 6, despite losing star guard Jarrett Culver to the 2019 NBA Draft.

Seton Hall is one of the surprises, coming in just behind the Red Raiders at No. 7. Seton Hall should have an experience advantage over other teams, returning all but one contributor from last season and adding 3-star recruit, Tyrese Samuel.

Fellow Big East school Marquette comes in at No. 24, but will be a team to watch in March, after prolific scorer Markus Howard decided to return to the school for his senior season.

The Big Ten has seven schools in Katz's top 36 rankings, leading all other conferences. The Big East follows them up with six schools, while the ACC has just five.
