Allen Lazard Injury Update Creates Fantasy Football Breakout Potential
By Max Staley

The Green Bay Packers' impressive third-year wide receiver Allen Lazard hasn't seen the field since Week 3. It looked like Green Bay's already shorthanded receiving corps was in trouble when he went down, but because Aaron Rodgers is Aaron Rodgers, the team was able to weather the storm.
But the Packers just activated Lazard from injured reserve, which suggests he's likely to play this week. His presence could help take this passing game over the top, giving Lazard some legitimate breakout potential down the stretch of the fantasy football season.
The #Packers activated WR Allen Lazard from injured reserve, an indication he’ll play this week. Lazard had surgery to repair a core muscle injury in early October.

Allen Lazard Fantasy Outlook
Lazard was tremendous before going down this year. He was turning 5.7 targets into 4.3 catches for 84.7 receiving yards per outings across the three games played. Notably, Green Bay's current No. 2 wideout, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, saw the exact same amount of targets as Lazard did during that span, but Lazard was considerably more efficient.
He caught 13-of-17 targets for 254 yards and 2 touchdowns, while MVS only hauled in 8-of-17 for 165 yards and 1 TD. That's pretty much been the book on Valdes-Scantling all year, as he's been maddeningly inconsistent.
MVS' 11.1% drop rate is the third-highest among all WRs, and stuff like that gets you in Rodgers' dog house pretty quickly. Assuming Lazard is at or near full health, you have to think he'll regain that No. 2 WR role eventually, and potentially even right away.
Serving as the No. 2 wideout for a top-five scoring offense is always a recipe for fantasy success. If he's still available in your league, pick him up right away.
