Best Remaining Destinations for Alejandro Villanueva in Free Agency

NFL offensive lineman Alejandro Villanueva has spent the last six seasons playing with the Pittsburgh Steeles, but now enters free agency for the first time in his career.
He has not missed a single game in any of the last five seasons and would make a great addition to a contending team that needs help up front.
Any team knows how important it is to have a strong offensive line to bolster the running game and keep the team's quarterback protected. With that in mind, here are the three best remaining free-agent destinations for Villanueva.
1. New York Giants
The New York Giants could be in the mix for Villanueva given their need at the offensive tackle position. They are set to lose Cam Fleming to free agency this offseason and could bring in Villanueva as an immediate replacement. While Villanueva is entering next season at 32 years old, he still has some gas left in the tank and he has made the Pro Bowl twice in his career. The Giants would be smart to sign him as that kind of experience is needed along their subpar offensive line.
2. Los Angeles Chargers
The Los Angeles Chargers already made headlines by signing center Corey Linsley this offseason, but don't be surprised if they make a move to sign Villanueva as well. Villanueva was graded between 74.0 and 82.0 in each of the last five seasons, according to PFF. That kind of consistency would be a welcome sight along a Chargers line that just lost starting left tackle Sam Tevi to free agency. He may not be the team's long-term answer for the future, but signing Villanueva as a temporary solution would make sense here.
3. Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs offensive line has gone through some changes this offseason as the team released two starters in Eric Fisher and Mitchell Schwartz. They made a huge deal by signing Joe Thuney, but could still look towards Villanueva as a less expensive way to improve their protection. Even if he ends up as a depth player, Villanueva would be a great mentor for the younger players on the team. The Chiefs do not have much money to spend, but Villanueva would likely be glad to sign with a Super Bowl contender on a short-term deal.
