The Alabama Crimson Tide continued their dominating and perfect 2020 campaign with a convincing victory over an outmatched No. 4 Notre Dame Fighting Irish, 31-14, in last Friday's College Football Playoff Semifinal Rose Bowl.

And the momentum still hasn't slowed for this year's Crimson Tide team heading into the 2021 CFP National Championship game against the Ohio State Buckeyes either, despite losing offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian to a new head coaching gig with the Texas Longhorns.

In fact, Alabama has already opened as better than a one-touchdown favorite over the Buckeyes, according to FanDuel Sportsbook, boasting a 7.5-point edge over Ohio State as of this Monday morning one week ahead of next Monday night's CFP title game showdown.

The Tide are no strangers to heavy favorite spreads, as they also opened 18.5-point favorites over the Fighting Irish in the semifinal round.

While the oddsmakers are clearly keen on the Tide's title chances early on, let's not forget who was already a 7.5-point underdog to the Clemson Tigers in a semifinal round of their own last Friday night before dominating their way to a 49-28 victory: Ohio State.

It would be quite the feat to pull off back-to-back upsets as single-touchdown underdogs to win a national title, but this Buckeyes team clearly has proven the potential to be more dangerous than the oddsmakers have led on once already.
