Adam Thielen has spent quite a bit of time on the shelf this season. The Minnesota Vikings' star wideout got hurt in Week 7, and didn't play a full complement of snaps until Week 16.
When healthy, he's still among the league's best though, and he proved that with a seven-catch, 129-yard performance against the New Orleans Saints in the Wild Card Round. Unfortunately, Thielen got banged up once again in practice this week and had to have stitches on an ankle, calling his availability for the Divisional Round against the San Francisco 49ers into question.
Adam Thielen Fantasy Outlook
While this injury is certainly worrying, it does look like he'll be able to gut it out and suit up, though how effective he'll be remains to be seen.
When healthy, Thielen has clearly been the Vikings' No. 1 option in the passing game. He had a 24 percent target share over the first five weeks of the season, while Stefon Diggs only had an 18 percent share, and Thielen out-targeted Diggs nine-to-three in the Wild Card Round.
Even if he suits up, the injury does make Thielen a bit of a risky play this weekend. He attempted to play through a hamstring injury in Week 9, but left after seeing just seven snaps. When he was finally deemed healthy enough to play a full complement of snaps in Week 16, he was held without a catch on four targets.
Facing the No. 2-ranked 49ers' pass defense, according to Football Outsiders' DVOA metric, certainly won't help matters either.
Before this news broke, Thielen was the WR4 in our Divisional Round fantasy rankings, but given the cloudy injury situation and tough matchup, he's trending toward being a risky play here.
