Aaron Rodgers Fantasy Outlook Paints Him as a Potential Steal

After nearly four months of rumors surrounding his playing future, Aaron Rodgers put all of that to rest (for now) when he showed up at the Green Bay Packers training camp this week. However, despite his proven track record, which includes multiple MVP awards and a Super Bowl ring, it's looking like Rodgers is flying under a lot of fantasy radars and could potentially be a steal for a lot of fantasy owners next year.

Aaron Rodgers Fantasy Outlook
Fantasy Pros is currently ranking Rodgers as QB8 with an average draft position of 53.0, which seems extremely low for a player who was just named the 2020 NFL Most Valuable Player. While you could make the argument that guys like Patrick Mahomes (QB1) and Josh Allen (QB2) should be drafted ahead of Rodgers, it seems silly to rank Dak Prescott (QB5 coming off of a season-ending injury) and Justin Herbert (QB6 entering his sophomore season) ahead of him.
Despite approaching the age of 40, Rodgers didn't look it at all last season. He finished the 2020 NFL season by completing a career-high 70.7% of his passes for 4,299 passing yards and a league-leading 48 touchdowns. Needless to say, that doesn't look like a quarterback who'll turn 38 in December.
The Packers led the NFL with 31.5 points per game in 2020 and, considering how they brought back a majority of their offensive pieces this offseason, could probably post similar numbers in 2021. Rodgers will also continue having Davante Adams — a top-5 wideout — at his disposal in addition to being reunited with one of his favorite wide receivers, Randall Cobb. In other words, there's no reason why Green Bay's signal-caller can't finish as one of the top QBs next season.
The Packers have +1200 odds to win Super Bowl 56, according to FanDuel Sportsbook, which puts them in a tie for third with the Buffalo Bills. As long as Green Bay continues fielding a contender-quality team, Rodgers should remain as one of the best quarterbacks in fantasy football.
