Star wideout A.J. Green announced his retirement from the NFL earlier this week on his Instagram and is now reflecting on his career. Green has been with the Arizona Cardinals for the last two seasons, but he was drafted by and made his name with the Cincinnati Bengals.

In the prime of his career, Green was one of the best receivers in the NFL, for a number of years. And he hasn't forgotten about his time in Cincinnati and what the franchise means to him.

On his time in Cincinnati, Green said:

"I loved my time in Cincinnati. I became A.J. Green there. It's always going to be home. I'll always be a Bengal."

A.J. Green

That's high praise for an organization, and something every fan loves to hear about one of the franchise's greatest all-time players because fans are a big part of a player's experience with a team, they either make him feel welcomed and supported, or they can leave a bad taste in a player's mouth. It's clear what Cincinnati and its fans did for Green.

While he suffered through some injuries and tough years in Cincinnati, it's clear both Green and the BEngals will be tied to each other forever, and both parties seem wuite thrilled with that.
