James Harden and the Philadelphia 76ers fell to a 4-5 record on Wednesday night with a close loss to the Washington Wizards. Unfortunately, this wasn't the only loss stemming from this outcome.
All-star guard James Harden appeared to injure his foot in the contest and the 76ers learned brutal news on Thursday's injury update.
NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski reported Thursday that Harden suffered a right foot tendon strain, and could miss a month of basketball.
The 76ers will be fine getting by with the likes of De'Anthony Melton, Tyrese Maxey and Shake Milton. However, this continues a concerning trend for the aging superstar. Harden's dealt with a multitude of injuries over the past few seasons, presumably tied to his growing age.
Harden missed nearly 20 games a year ago, played just half the season the year prior, logged 68 appearances in 2019-20. Prior to that, the 10-time All-Star had suited up in at least 72 games in nine of the previous 10 years.
The 76ers hold +1800 odds to win the NBA Championship on FanDuel Sportsbook.
