Chargers running back Melvin Gordon has been ruled out for Week 14 as he continues to recover from an MLC sprain suffered in Week 12. Gordon, the Chargers' lead back and a bonafide fantasy star, will miss a very favorable matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals in the first weekend of the fantasy football playoffs.

With Gordon out, Austin Ekeler will step in again as the team's lead back with Justin Jackson chipping in as well. Although Ekeler was a fantasy disappointment in last week's thrilling win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, he has every reason to bounce back this week against a bad and injury-ridden Bengals team.

The Bengals rank dead last in the NFL in fantasy points allowed to running backs, which comes out to an average of 27.9 FanDuel fantasy points per game. Even if Ekeler gets half of that point total, it will most likely suffice for fantasy owners in this weekend's fantasy football playoffs, especially if you're someone who is without Gordon in the first place.
