With so much on the line going into "The Game," many expected Ohio State and Michigan to play down to the wire. But things don't always work out as expected as it turned into a 62-39 blowout victory for the Buckeyes, who also set a new record for most points scored by the winning team in the 129-year history of the rivalry.

And that wasn't the only record the Buckeyes set over the weekend. This year's edition of "The Game" turned out to be the most watched college football regular season game in FOX's history, with more than 13 million viewers tuning in to watch the Buckeyes manhandle Michigan.

The Buckeyes made a pretty strong argument for a spot in the College Football Playoff after knocking off a then-fourth-ranked Michigan team, but there's still more work to be done if they want that final coveted CFP berth.

If they can pull off a convincing-enough win over Northwestern in the Big Ten Championship Game, and maybe get a little help from Texas in the Big 12 Championship Game, then there's a good chance that the Buckeyes will be in contention for a National Championship for the third time in five years.
