O.J. Howard was one of the top draft prospects coming out of Alabama, but failed to live up to the hype his freakish athleticism created as a rookie.

Well, one year later and that's not a problem anymore.

Howard is putting together a fantastic season, with 472 yards and five touchdowns in eight games. He just caught two TDs against the Panthers, giving him four in his last four games.

In a fantasy season where TE talent is hard to come by, Howard stands out for all the right reasons. He's in a pass-heavy offense and, despite being surrounded by talented WRs like Mike Evans and DeSean Jackson, he's still getting his fair share of targets.

The expectations thrust upon him following an outstanding NFL combine might have been a bit outrageous, but clearly, he's living up to them. The biggest issue he faces long term seems to be injuries; he missed one game this year and two last year. But at this point, Howard is not only living up to the hype, he's exceeding it.

Soon enough, he might be among the best tight ends in the league.
