The NFC North has always been a division predicated on tough, hard-nosed defenses. Playing in the cold weather for most of the year, teams have used it to their advantage for years. This season, the Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings stand above the rest as two of the most talented defenses in the division and the entire NFL.
The Vikings defense set a franchise record with 10 sacks Sunday against the Detroit Lions, and also added 10 tackles for loss, one touchdown, and 23 fantasy points.
The Bears defense has been lighting it up pretty much all season, and this Sunday was no different. Chicago finished with four sacks, 10 tackles for loss, a forced fumble, three interceptions, and two touchdowns for a grand total of 29 fantasy points against a reeling Buffalo Bills offense in Week 9.
Even though star DE Kahlil Mack was out, the Bears defense got a lucky draw going up against the turnover factory that is Nathan Peterman and Chicago took full advantage.
It's time we all take notice of these two defenses because come cold-weather playoff games, they'll already be well prepared with plenty of experience and success under their belts.
