Matt Breida put quite the scare into fantasy owners this past weekend after leaving the San Francisco 49ers game with an ankle injury. However, it seems the second-year back may not miss as much time as initially feared.

According to Matt Maiocco, Breida's MRI revealed a mid-ankle sprain without any significant damage to speak of.

Even with the encouraging news, it seems like the San Francisco 49ers can't catch a break these days. They lost Jerick McKinnon before the season and Jimmy Garoppolo in Week 3, among other injuries.

For now, Breida's status for Week 6 is up in the air. He's listed as doubtful, but it might be best if fantasy owners keep him on the bench even if he suits up. Scouting the waiver wire for the likes of Wendell Smallwood, Corey Clement, and Mike Davis would be the right move for any Breida owners in need of a replacement.
