For those of you that joked about betting on Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick to win the 2018-19 NFL MVP, you may want to hold your tongues.
Even though Fitzpatrick's early-season antics like his explosive Week 1 and 2 performances of four touchdowns passes per game are the exact kind of things that earned him the nickname 'Fitzmagic,' Fitzpatrick's Week 2 performance is enough to quiet the doubters.
In fact, it was even enough to start a legitimate MVP odds case for the veteran quarterback.
Fitzpatrick is currently sitting +13000 to win the NFL's most distinguished award for individual performance, and after showing up for postgame interviews rocking a little gold bling and some shades, he's clearly starting to feel it himself too.
Interestingly enough, Jameis Winston – the guy he replaced as the starting QB in Tampa Bay during Winston's three-game suspension – has fallen to +18000 odds to win MVP after Week 2.
MVP odds aren't the only wager he's making waves in either. Fitzpatrick has also quietly snuck up to +18000 to finish the 2018-19 regular season with the most passing yards in the league, per FanDuel Sportsbook.
We'll see how long Fitzpatrick can keep this act up, but through two weeks he's made a solid case.
